Like everything I did the research and presented facts. I've managed before. There are projects that would be better if I had directs, and things where it's better if I'm a wandering problem/solution finder. I preferred not to in this case and didn't. It didn't come down to it anyway as there were other options. I find when you're working well with your management then things just happen and there isn't much fretting or arguing. In fact I have to often call out distinctly "are we all clear were making a decision here." And then we just move forward.
