I’ve had a lot of success approaching America as a feudal society.
A lot of cognitive dissonance comes from an indoctrination of upwards mobility and democratic inclusiveness, which lets the underclass spend decades of their life rationalizing their cognitive dissonance when every archaic facet of American society sets them back. In feudal times the peasants at least knew they had no say in anything. It doesn't matter now that its not just landowners who can vote, when only the lords and baron’s social causes are the ones that become law.
I can accept that and entertain the lords directly. It isn't inclusive and not everyone can do it. This is congruent with the history of the world, I’m fine with that.
