Ask HN: Public example startup user database
I am creating some educative materials showing how to use SQL to analyse trends. I want the examples to be as practical as possible. The target audience are engineers at a startup that doesn't yet employ dedicated data scientists or analysts.
So I am looking for a database to use in the examples. I would like to show how to calculate things like growth rates, conversion rates, weekly trends, etc, so ideally the database should have several tables (e.g. Users, Leads, Sales, Products, etc) and enough data to show interesting trends but not too much that it can't be analysed with simple SQL queries.
Are there any example databases? Maybe anonymised for exactly this purpose or maybe open sourced similar to the Enron Emails dataset?
