This brings up an interesting conversation. As a user which should you pick, a device like Yubikey that is closed source and unverifiable or a device like OnlyKey that is open source and verifiable but without a traditional secure element? Its not a new question as this is essentially like the Trezor vs. Ledger debate. There are actual exploitable vulnerabilities that have occurred with "secure elements" while there are potential and theoretical vulnerabilities mentioned in this HN post.
