OBS Studio has a plugin that enables virtual webcam output on windows. I’ve used it to create a more reliable webcam output from Blackmagic capture cards, as not all software likes to recognize the included webcam driver.

- stuntkite 7y agoI've been doing a lot of RGBd scanner stuff in the last few years. "Volumetric Video" as some people call it. The Intel RealSense platform has been a boon and the new Kinect with Linux SDK is cool but with some of the things I've been trying to do to build composite scenes from multiple devices or recordings I hit a wall that could be summed up as lack of virtual webcam support. I haven't hacked on OBS much but have used it quite a bit. This looks like a fantastic example to investigate for useful patterns to leverage. Thanks for sharing!
