I haven't had any wired earphones that didn't had a cable break within 2 years. I have used Sennheiser, Philips, Marshall and Shure. At least they all break within the warrantee period. The store where I get them doesn't bother with replacements and just returns me the money. That is how got new earphones every 1-2 years while only paying once. From my experience wired earphones don't last unless you baby them.
