Interesting project. What do you think of https://github.com/sevagh/transcribe https://github.com/sevagh/transcribe ? It seems like in your project the word transcription isn't referring to sheet music transcription?
- jacquesm 7y agoWell, you can go to sheet music if you want to but there are plenty of packages out there that will display midi files as sheet music so that would seem to be an unnecessary complication. The core problem is polyphonic music -> midi and that is hard enough! I will take a look at your software, it definitely sounds interesting, the question at the end of https://github.com/sevagh/transcribe/blob/master/doc/snac.md https://github.com/sevagh/transcribe/blob/master/doc/snac.md can be answered in the affirmative, the Onsets and Frames package mentioned elsewhere in this thread does just that and works very well. By the way, the linked paper is unavailable.
- sevagh 7y agoOK, fair enough. A MIDI file would contain the musical information necessary to generate any notation. Thanks for the reply. I see indeed the link to the Mcleod pitch method paper is dead. I'll see about hosting it in a git repo.
