Why did you need this code formatting to make your point?
Now mobile users will have to scroll right to left to read your content.
I doubt if that's the correct usage of this particular formatting style.
- periya 7y agoLoads fine on mobile.
- georgeplusplus 7y agoI am on iPhone and it does not for me
- dzhiurgis 7y agoRotate your phone
- grogenaut 7y agoIs it their fault that code doesn't lay out well on mobile? Or hn? Is a forum poster responsible for the responsive design of their post on a site they don't control? Do you test your posts so they work well on my Nokia?
- fossuser 7y agoIf it isn’t code, don’t use the code formatter.
- CamperBob2 7y agoWhat do you recommend, given that HN itself doesn't care enough to provide a usable alternative for quotes and lists?
- fossuser 7y agoThis is an example comment that will make a few example points. - This is an item in the list. - This is a second item. > “This is an example of a quote” Followed up by some final points from the commenter.
- CamperBob2 7y agoI'm certainly glad the originators of HTML didn't agree with your suggested quote mechanism. It sucks. But yes, an unordered list would have worked OK here, albeit not quite as effective at making the GP's point.
- fastball 7y agoHN's fault for not having a quote format like every other platform, using ">".
