  Cerberus also allows you to do things such as set off an alarm on the phone, take a photo using the camera, and a few other things. I don't think Google's solution does all that. In addition, a quick test looks like using Google's service triggers a notification on the device, which would cause anyone stealing the device to turn the phone off. I think Find My Device is mainly a solution to misplaced phones, with limited use as an anti-theft tool.
