Tesco withdraws Christmas cards from sale after forced labour claims
- simonblack 7y ago"Pics or it didn't happen." My bullshit meter is off the clock. Note that we never see a picture of the actual writing in the card.
- davesque 7y agoHonestly, how would an image count as proof nowadays?
- awinder 7y agoThe linked source has a picture of the message but they changed the handwriting to anonymize the author. Which seems fair. The journalist who was forwarded the note was actually imprisoned there and confirmed the story with several independent contacts. This is all in the story though so I don’t know if this was all not persuasive to you or if you didn’t read past the title. Seemed reliably sourced to me though.
- simonblack 7y ago... they changed the handwriting to anonymize the author. Or to make up a complete load of bullshit? We have no proof that a card with the original handwriting ever existed. Hence my original comment that my bullshit meter was off the clock. https://www.skeptical-science.com/bullshit/detecting-bullshit-quick-refresher-carl-sagan/ https://www.skeptical-science.com/bullshit/detecting-bullshi...
