The corporation would, but the government forces it to prioritize its own citizens. Because the citizens of any country expect it to look out for their own interests ahead of others. If your country is nothing but an open marketplace where you have to compete with the whole world, you don't really have a country.
- esoterica 7y agoThat’s an arbitrary definition of a country. You might as well say that you can’t have a country unless every has the exact same religion and skin color (which some people still believe, and is about as morally coherent as your idea of what a country is).
- deogeo 7y agoIt's not a definition of country, but your country. It can still be a country, but if you share it with the whole world, it's not yours.
- geofft 7y agoIt's not shared with the whole world, it's shared with people of the same race. The historical definition of a "nation" (note the nat- Latin root, of "birth") is in fact a race. Many countries (as in the political entities) offer easier paths to citizenship to people of a certain ethnic background: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_sanguinis#Leges_sanguinis_states_today https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jus_sanguinis#Leges_sanguinis_...
