Sounds like you might not be the target. If you're not worried about the durability or long term management of your photos (and owning them as much as you can) - then Facebook is perfect with it's distribution. The idea of making it available for developers is an interesting one. I hadn't considered it but if there's enough interest to build it out for some consumers then making it work for developers shouldn't be a stretch.
