I don't think it's that crazy actually. In some far future scenario one could see Boeing going into bankruptcy protection (a lot would need to happen to get to that point), after which the healthy parts like the defense related divisions could be spun off into a new company. I don't think it's likely, but it doesn't seem impossible.
