My old employer was a pretty extreme version of cowardly management. They never wanted to hurt anyone’s feelings, or talk bad about anyone. To the point where there would be people who have been coasting around for years, and everyone in the company knows they don’t have any valuable contribution to the company, and yet they’d rather duplicate their roles than to let them go.
