Tomorrow it'll be 40C in Sydney....?
- TurkishPoptart 7y agoI just looked up Sydney in their map-app. I like how the entry says "Heat? NO". Same for San Diego. The only people without AC in SD are the homeless.
- thescriptkiddie 7y agoI don't have any data on this, but anecdotally it seems like most residential buildings in San Diego built before ~1980 don't even have AC. The same goes for Los Angeles and San Francisco. Heaters are required but you'll almost never use them.
- mullen 7y ago> The only people without AC in SD are the homeless. Depends where you are in San Diego. If you are within 10 miles of the coast, you can get away without either A/C or Heat.
- ganeshkrishnan 7y agoYou can definitely get by in Sydney without heat. Even Melbourne which is colder than Sydney, I never had heat during daytime.

To anyone reading this, this claim is certainly false. I grew up in University City in SD and remember no one that had AC. Ceiling fans were totally normal, but nothing more.
- jermaustin1 7y agoTheir data was using the average high during the hottest month, not one off days. But it would be good to know the extremes. Personally I enjoy a slightly cooler temperature, but still above freezing. Edinburgh is my perfect climate. August highs rarely above 25C and January lows rarely below 2C. Jacket in winter and a fan in summer are all you need to live comfortably.
