The word “evil” itself is a loaded word that comes with its own baggage.
It’s a great way to “other” a group or idea, signal tribal loyalty and feel good about oneself for having superior moral values.
It’s much harder to recognize that things are not a binary good/evil, they are a sliding scale as you mentioned.
- munmaek 7y ago"bad" itself is a loaded word because people don't like bad things. "negative" itself is a loaded word because why can't it be positive instead? etc. In some cases, like this one, usage of the word "evil" is not implausible. The tribes already exist here, regardless of the verbage being used.
