Went over bosses head without knowing anything about the relationship between said boss and upper management. Didnt inquire as to why a boss who "burned a team to the ground" in previous position was promoted to his team to begin with. Kept trying to come back to the company for social gatherings even after leaving. Am not sure what the story is here, but I hope he learned some lessons, plural.
