Do users really care about being able to customize the design (themes or more fine grained)? I did that when I had my first Amiga. For a while, when I bought a new Computer, I configured Windows back to "classic mode". After the umpteenth time, it just gets tiring. These days I don't even change the desktop background anymore. I'd much rather the developer make sensible choice to begin with, so that I don't have to think about it. Maybe I should look into Vagrant. Even installing extra "developer fonts" on every computer I might develop with is too straining to me.
