Diplomacy wouldn't really work if you couldn't be candid. And if you knew everything you said in diplomatic conversations would be public, you'd be less candid. Or you'd only work with those, who would provide you with secrecy. For the record, we don't know whether the Faroese government let itself submit to the pressure, or whether they are now actively pursuing other avenues. But I would imagine with the leak, that it's not the former any more. The question is whether it would have been had it not been for the leak.
