So why is Tide still in business?
- mmanfrin 7y agoMy dependents (two small kittens) sure love when I do laundry though, don't know how that skews the numbers.
- TurkishPoptart 7y agoAww. Yup, cats love laundry.
- compiler-guy 7y agoBecause there hasn't been a simple-enough, cheap-enough outsourcing method developed. It's probably only a matter of time though.
- empath75 7y agoUber for laundry sounds like a business plan to me.
- spamizbad 7y agoAlready done (several times) and on the startup scrap heap.
- clSTophEjUdRanu 7y agoWhat? There are already services that go around, pick up laundry, wash the stuff, and return it folded. It's expensive but this is not a new business.
- samatman 7y agoThat's the 'taxi' version, which one might 'Uber for' by appifying and raising several million dollars. Since there aren't wash-and-fold medallions, and travelers can generally go without or get concierge service, this meets no actual need. Thus, these startups have failed.
- empath75 7y agoI’d think the Uber version would be your neighbor coming around to do your laundry.
- malandrew 7y agoIt's expensive. About 2 years ago my girlfriend moved in with her service animal and my landlord forbid us from using the communal laundry machine due to allergies he said another tenant has. From that point forward, I took my laundry to one of those places that charge by the pound because there were no DIY laundromats nearby. I loved it. Super convenient. But the costs really added up.
- therealdrag0 7y agoraises hand meekly I like doing laundry. I find it relaxing/meditative.
- sombremesa 7y agoAh, the curse of not enough significant figures.
