In my opinion, the main selling point of Go is a good ratio of performance and language. It’s reasonable fast and mostly straight forward to program with. The standard API is just incredible great in terms of documentation and uniformity. There are things where I personally think they could have done better; generally nil-able values (SQL/JSON integration is awful sometimes) primarily.
