When I get a new phone, my email (and calendar, and contacts) settings migrate seamlessly. I've upgraded 3 times over the last decode (iPhone3GS, iPhone5S, iPhone6S) with no issues. Same with a new laptop (4 times in about 15 years) -- I just transfer all the settings over, and I haven't ever needed to redo anything.
