My main question is whether when someone takes a CBC how often that's the only test. If you're looking for other markers (A1C, Potassium, any number of standard panel stuff) you probably need to take a full size blood draw so I'm not 100% clear on the benefit.
- cududa 7y agoProof of concept on using tiny amounts of blood for certain bio-markets. They’re taking the MVP approach.
- onlyrealcuzzo 7y agoI'm curious to know why you need a full-size blood draw for those tests. Do you know? Can you elaborate?
- bsder 7y ago1) Some of these chemicals are found in quite small concentrations. The fact that we can detect them reliably is actually rather remarkable. 2) Generally, the full blood draw serves as an averaging filter. We know that concentrations of chemicals in the body vary significantly with time, position, etc. Pulling more blood over several seconds serves to average some of this out.
