My top-three biggest mistakes were, in order of severity:
1. Taking on and continuing to work with asshole clients.
2. Setting my rates too low (I didn't account for taxes, paying both halves of FICA, and healthcare as much as I should have).
3. Not finding a good balance between finding clients and actually doing the work.
