Part of the reason why the blogpost is fun is the neat technical details and outside the box way of approaching small problems. It's nice if the interview can be used to figure out if the interviewer/candidate want to work together. I think it's fair to be frustrated at the "whiteboard interview questions" that most people encounter when interviewing.
