CRA sets up a completely working development environment, I can start coding immediatly. The code I have to remove from CRA is minimal (Clean out App.js, delete the CSS file). It saves a _lot_ of mental energy for me. Otherwise I would first spend half an hour setting up Webpack, Babel, Prettier, eslint etc. before even writing a single line of code.
