It's not obvious to everyone yet but the modern language that will become the most mainstream is obviously Kotlin. It has almost all modern language features, a ton of justified syntax sugars, and is 100% compatible with the Java ecosystem making it the most production ready among "modern languages" The only other language with such a property is to my knowledge, typescript.
