I considered all my old CDs dead (music and PC games - RIP Phantasmagoria, plus MP3 collections) over a decade ago. The majority of them developed white spots or detachment of the disc layer. This has been known since the early 2000s, I’m surprised anyone would collect them without being aware of the risks.
