If you have some equity (and don’t gave terms that make it difficult to retain it after you leave) then why not try something else? Taking time out is harder, depending on location. Sometimes being out of work makes it difficult to find work. I certainly recommend taking a holiday before applying for work. Personally don’t recommend taking your issues to management. I’ve rarely seen that not have negative consequences.
