That confidence will slowly start to turn into personality and style. when you are just starting you don't want to break any rules and are focused on being "good". Once you have confidence you have no issues breaking the "rules" to get the result you want. Also, have fun. Writing is just communicating, you do it every day with your voice, writing is just an extra step.
