There is always the classic advice: 1. Tell them what you're going to tell them. 2. Tell them. 3. Tell them what you told them. One of the most barebones yet effective communication tools is the 5 paragraph essay. The middle 3 paragraphs are reserved for step 2 above. Of course you can adapt and change as necessary but i recommend using a 5 paragraph format as the starting template.
