How to write 100 articles in 100 days
- christiansakai 7y agoI just decided to start writing. I just wrone one last night. I sucked. English is also not my first language. So now currently watching writing tips videos. Can you recommend any tips for ultra beginner writer?
- yummypaint 7y agoThere is always the classic advice: 1. Tell them what you're going to tell them. 2. Tell them. 3. Tell them what you told them. One of the most barebones yet effective communication tools is the 5 paragraph essay. The middle 3 paragraphs are reserved for step 2 above. Of course you can adapt and change as necessary but i recommend using a 5 paragraph format as the starting template.
- canadianwriter 7y agoYou're going to hate this but: write a lot. Just keep doing it. The more you write the more confidence you will have. That confidence will slowly start to turn into personality and style. when you are just starting you don't want to break any rules and are focused on being "good". Once you have confidence you have no issues breaking the "rules" to get the result you want. Also, have fun. Writing is just communicating, you do it every day with your voice, writing is just an extra step.
- corodra 7y ago1. Read a lot. 2. Write a lot. 3. Read more and pay attention to how it differs from your writing. Figure out what you need to improve. 4. Write a lot more. Repeat. In all seriousness, that's the base habit of all journalist, non-fiction and creative writers. There's an adage that you become a decent writer after you've written your first 1 million words. It took me about 1.5 million before I put myself in the decent category. My last 100 thousand have been very deliberate practice, which puts me at an almost-good level of writing. Extra tip, fear not the editing phase. Let your writing ferment alone for a week or two. Then come back to edit. Once you've racked it, let it age just a wee bit more. Edit it again once or twice more. Then you do a typo read through.
