  It's impossible to know for sure if someone is trolling by the original definition of the word. Since that refers to intent, you'd have to be a mind reader to decide it. In practice, it doesn't matter, because the effects of doing it accidentally are the same as doing it on purpose. We mostly use the word 'flamebait' instead, which means approximately the same thing with the intent component taken out.
