Suggested title alteration: "Why Apocalyptic Claims About Climate Change Are Not Helping"
As far as I can tell there is accredited and reliable science both for and against the idea that global warming will bring about seriously consequences if left unchecked.
That being said, I agree with the authors sentiment that polarizing people on the issue isn't helping. Fear mongering and alarmism is not the answer as far as I can see. If we want to get the world motivated a different approach is needed; you catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar, as they say.
- Lutger 7y agoI've stopped believing that, we’ve done this approach for 30 years now and it had no effect. It would be foolish to think continuing on the same path will give the same result. A better approach would be to start with the truth.
- Vysero 7y ago"A better approach would be to start with the truth." If someone had this down to brass tacks I would agree but they don't. There is immense contradiction here even among the brightest minds in the world.
