This is huge. Love the concept. My company is 100% remote, and we're having all the pain points with Zoom that have already been mentioned. We also all have more than one monitor.
But we're on windows.
Get that pre-order form online already! ;)
- aagha 7y agoI literally started typing a note to my team to check this out and say: We're going to be trying this out after the holiday, and then realized it was wasn't Window's ready. Super bummed.
- keithnz 7y agoyep, not obvious from the home screen it isn't for windows... the "Now available for MacOS" gave me the impression it was originally for windows... also no hint the company is even interested in windows...? UPDATE: yes, in their https://www.coscreen.co/feedback https://www.coscreen.co/feedback they ask about windows support...
- coscreen 7y agoSorry for letting you all wait for the Windows client. We'll work on it but we had to start somewhere and coin-flipped on Mac, kind off. As mentioned further below, CoScreen is built mostly on an platform-agnostic stack so we hope it won't be a gargantuan effort to support Windows. But stay tuned (and sign up if you want to stay in the loop).
- coscreen 7y agoSorry for that - we've just set up this form to gather interest & get feedback on which OS to prioritize next: https://shorturl.at/koJX3 https://shorturl.at/koJX3 Please fill it out and you'll hear from us!
- walrus01 7y agoI honestly don't understand why more companies haven't dropped Zoom after their recent major lapses in security practices: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=zoom+mac+os+security https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-d&q=zoom+ma... It leaves me with very little confidence that the Zoom client for Windows doesn't have some gaping undiscovered vulnerability in it.
- josephwegner 7y agoI have very high confidence that every application on my computer has some gaping undiscovered vulnerability in it. It is the nature of software to be accidentally insecure. Dropping Zoom based on their security mistake would make sense if one of two things was true: 1. The vulnerability was introduced intentionally 2. The vulnerability was introduced due to a persistent culture of negligence I have seen no evidence that either of those are the case. Someone at Zoom made a mistake. Granted, it was a big mistake. I've made a few of those in my career too.
- walrus01 7y agoThe way that they introduced the persistently resident hidden web cam software, and the way that it had basically no authentication on it at all, does tell me that they have a software development culture of negligence.
- coscreen 7y agoSorry for the delay - here's the preorder form ;) (It's actually meant to help us prioritize, thanks in advance for your feedback!) https://shorturl.at/koJX3 https://shorturl.at/koJX3
- jacobn 7y agoSomething is wrong with that shorturl - it just takes me to the main https://www.shorturl.at/ https://www.shorturl.at/ webpage.
- coscreen 7y agoThanks for the hint. It works for me on Chrome and Firefox but not on Safari for some weird reason. Here's the full link: https://teamcoscreen.typeform.com/to/IOJ8ql https://teamcoscreen.typeform.com/to/IOJ8ql (Incidentally the issue hopefully only affects Mac/Safari users while the survey is focused on non-Mac users anyway)
- seinfish 7y agoThis should one should work: https://teamcoscreen.typeform.com/to/IOJ8ql https://teamcoscreen.typeform.com/to/IOJ8ql
