Controversy aside, I wish Google would come out and say, "These employees had an 'at will' employment contract that we (Google) terminated.", and leave it at that. I'm pretty curious what would come of that, in the media and elsewhere.
- g_sch 7y agoEven with "at will" employment, workers still have some protection from termination. For example, anti-discrimination laws prohibit people from being fired for a number of reasons, including their race, gender, sexuality, etc. Another form of protection covers union activity. This is what's at issue here.
