Ask HN: Noise cancelling headphones good at the office

What is your experience with noise cancelling headphones? Can you recommend one that works in a an open office? Are there headphones like this that are easy to wear at work/not exerting pressure on the ears? How often do you have to charge them? How are cheaper models (around 30$) when compared against the high end models (more than 300$) ?
