A coworker of mine refused to use Microsoft Office. One day, he had to give a presentation in an environment where he could not bring in his own laptop; he had to bring in his non -MS “PowerPoint” on a DVD. For whatever reason, MS PowerPoint could not open his non-MS presentation. He had to do his presentation without benefit of his slides; his project lost funding.
