When I want to get work done, I just set my hosts file to block all of the time-wasting sites. 127.0.0.1 localhost 127.0.0.1 news.ycombinator.com 127.0.0.1 www.reddit.com Etc, Then if I want to check those sites I have to go through the hassle of opening the hosts file and commenting the lines. This definitely of keeps me from checking 'reflexively' throughout the day. Its a solution that even works on Windows and Mac!
