Well he certainly didn’t spend the rest of his life in prison the first time he was arrested. His family and legal team (who don’t think he killed himself) say he was confident he’d get away with it.
There’s nothing ordinary about his death (or life). There’s been a well documented cover up of his activities by the media and multiple governments going back at least a decade. None of that has been properly addressed.
Any negative connotation associated with people who question Epstein’s death isn’t addressing the main issue with his case: powerful people have successfully avoided being prosecuted for child sex trafficking. That’s the issue, not that people don’t believe what they’re being told about Epstein from those documented to be involved with him.
- mullingitover 7y agoHis family and legal team have great reasons to promote a conspiracy theory - they stand to inherit his estate. If the boring story that he did the rational thing and committed suicide because he was absolutely guilty (and wasn't getting away with it this time) was true, his estate would be wiped out and they'd get nothing. They have a great deal to gain if they can sow doubt to juries about any element of his story. People volunteering to promote conspiracy theories is an absolute boon to his estate. I don't blame people for being suspicious of his story at first glance, but really looking at the facts, it's most plausible that he believed he wouldn't get away with anything this time and took the easy way out. This is wholly independent of the problem of the wealthy and connected getting the kid glove treatment by the legal system.
- malvosenior 7y agoI think people are looking at the facts when they say it’s unlikely he killed himself. Remember no one had committed suicide in that prison for over 21 years. Nearly every official and media outlet saying it was suicide is directly implicated in the scandal. Including Barr who’s father gave Epstein his first teaching job.
- mullingitover 7y ago> Nearly every official and media outlet saying it was suicide is directly implicated in the scandal. How are these media outlets directly implicated?
- malvosenior 7y agoMany execs and reporters at the media companies are on Epstein’s flight logs or have been at his parties. They’ve also been caught intentionally burying the story.
- mullingitover 7y agoIt doesn't really follow that just because they associated with him at some point, and perhaps slow walked stories about him, they were in a conspiracy to murder him.

- malvosenior 7y agoI think it's obviously in their best interest for the Epstein story to die, and their actions have demonstrated that. Including labeling anyone who doesn't think Epstein killed himself a "conspiracy theorist". There should be no doubt that many people don't believe he committed suicide. He escaped punishment once, none of his co-conspirators have been punished, the media has been caught manipulating the story, many powerful people have been caught lying. Why should anyone think the corruption all the sudden stopped? When people start getting punished, then maybe we can believe the people who held them accountable. Until then, all we've seen is corruption and deception and enough people have noticed that no amount of media manipulation will get people to believe that Epstein just happened to kill himself at the most convenient possible time for some of the most powerful people in the world, in an environment where that's only happened once in 40 years.
