Michael Nielsen, the author, also wrote a multi-part intro to neural networks (http://neuralnetworksanddeeplearning.com http://neuralnetworksanddeeplearning.com) which really cleared up for me the inner-workings and mathematics of machine learning quickly but without skimping on details. I'm very excited to read what he has to say here.
