We are locked already into an increase of a couple degrees celsius, because of the current carbon in the atmosphere. Even if we were to magically stop emitting any new carbon right now, the temperature would continue to coast upward for a few decades. There is promising technology that could help us address this, but it's hard to believe that we'll be able to avoid a 4C increase at this point. Perhaps we'll be able to correct faster with technological improvements, but calling a 4c increase 'outright wrong' is not really being honest either.
