Once we have that man things in space we will have the launch capacity to launch gigantic/multi satellite space overvaluation platform for gravitational and 'normal' astronomy. Astronmy will benefit from this overall. And what the alternative, for the rest of time not using this capability? I understand that they are sad, but since this doesn't even effect the majority of astronomers, I really think this is kind of a non-issue.
