Locking a product and company like Gitlab into a single cloud vendor's proprietary orchestrator would be a massive risk. Sure, if you're an early stage SaaS startup whose only metric is growth, use whatever gets your infrastructure up and running with as little downtime as possible. In any other situation, locking yourself into a single cloud provider is a risk that needs to be carefully evaluated.
