I didn’t understand either why “gambling, esports” were listed separately in the article. Why would esports in general be vices in the way the other industries

I didn’t understand either why “gambling, esports” were listed separately in the article. Why would esports in general be vices in the way the other industries are. I get there are CS:Go tournies where people pretend shoot each other in a video game, but I don’t see how that is more damaging to people than sports like boxing or MMA. Idk, is there still a ‘vice’ sentiment that “video games turn kids into killers”?
