Many people have been repressed their whole lives. It doesn't get better by digging heels in, but sometimes compromise and not trying to win all wars, may turn out improved outcomes. A big problem is the whole dull-minded "right vs left" duality. Tribal mentality that replaces actual issues and solutions.
