Only to find a packages.json file without a packages-lock.json file checked in, to make it impossible to restore the node_modules directory.
- koolba 7y agoThe real problem is that NPM wouldn’t be around. Better check in your node_modules directory the night before archive day so it’s included.
- radicalriddler 7y agoI don't think there would be enough storage capability to store that many node_module directories.
- koolba 7y agoAssuming they are deduping based on content hash it shouldn’t be that big a deal. Worst case it’s the size of npm itself.
- fastball 7y agoWell yeah, but at that point you should just be cloning NPM on 2/2/20 as well.
- account42 7y agohttps://archiveprogram.github.com/#arctic-code-vault https://archiveprogram.github.com/#arctic-code-vault > The snapshot will consist of the HEAD of the default branch of each repository, minus any binaries larger than 100KB in size. Each repository will be packaged as a single TAR file. 100KB is a very low limit, many repos will be useless
- throwitinjunk 7y ago> The real problem is that NPM wouldn’t be around. I wouldn't call that a problem.
- fiddlerwoaroof 7y agoDon't worry npm and cockroaches will be the only things to survive a nuclear war
- JadoJodo 7y ago> Cockroaches CockroachDB
- etxm 7y agoWhat’s the diff?
- dreamcompiler 7y agoAnd Java and Keith Richards. But only one of these four things will still be interesting.
- JimmyRuska 7y agoPretty sure the universe is running on some advanced version of Erlang. Erlang VM would survive until heat death of the universe, when it finally crashes the heartbeat program will kick in and we'll have a new big bang

- teniutza 7y agoI don't know if finding both JSON files but having to download leftPad would be any better...
