Aren't...a ton of jobs paid by the hour, or salaried?
Shouldn't we, according to this logic, only pay software engineers for lines of code written?
- eggy 7y agoMaybe. People hire by the hour or salary after an interview, and supposedly vetting the employee to be able to produce an expected amount of work at a reasonable quality, while being sequestered in an office under supervision (usually). A trucker is on the road, and until the latest in GPS tracking and packages with sensors, was pretty much their own person. It would be reasonable to gauge their work performance by the load.
