It's always been a part of human experience, usually bad, and especially so when it becomes extractive and monopolistic. But there's something about "tech" startups that seems to attract the most awful personalities into c-level leadership. I expect railroad and oil tycoons were much the same in their day. I don't expect anything to be different in the tech industry.
