I think Greenspun would be less optimistic if he did not extrapolate wildly from his experience in teaching an RDMS course to a bunch of "bright" students (some of whom aren't even from MIT --- OMFG, are you kidding me!). Instead, he should go find a bunch of middle-aged 99'ers, teach them his RDMS course and report back.
